I Just Want To Tell People So Much (diary entry aged 13)
2026As a young teenager, I carried the weight of my father’s brain surgery in secret. The operation left him fundamentally changed and this series of self-portraits explores a time when I was drowning in confusion, anger and fear without a voice.
By overlaying my portraits with my original diary entries, I have created a dialogue between my past and present. It was an act of nervous system regulation: a way to soothe my younger self and allow her to be fully seen.
